This operating system resembles a piece of horse crap more than an actual operating system. It lasts about as long as a bridge made of matchsticks and held together by Elmers Glue before it crashes. Sure it's nice to look at, but so is a Mercedes-Benz with Yugo parts running it. I'm sorry I can't give a detailed review of Windows ME - my copy crashed after just three days.
Operating systems I've had:
2007 - Present
Windows Vista
Lifespan: 2 1/2 years, no crashes, minor problems from time to time
2005 - 2007
Windows XP
Lifespan: 2 years, no crashes, computer still in operating condition as of 2010
Fate of computer: Partially Retired
2004 - 2005
Windows XP
Lifespan: 1 year, 10 months, no crashes
Fate of computer: Retired
2002 - 2004
Windows ?? (not ME)
Lifespan: 1 year+, no crashes
Fate of computer: Retired
December 25, 2002 - December 28, 2002
Windows ME
Lifespan: 3 days
Fate of computer: Crashed, inoperable after crash of 12/28/2002
Thank you Windows ME for giving me a perspective on what a crappy, poorly working operating system feels like

Windows ME - a ridiculous example of how bad Microsoft operating systems can be. Windows ME (or Windows Mistake Edition if you know what I'm saying) had started development in 1999 while Windows NT 5.0 (known as Windows 2000 in its final release) was being developed for professional use. Windows ME was meant to be for home use and it was basically an upgrade to Windows 98. It was also the last operating system to be ran on top of MS-DOS (which made no sense because even though Windows NT existed, why would Microsoft want to make a 32-bit operating system on top of a 16-bit kernel?). It was also rushed - good job Microsoft. (You didn't only rush this OS so good job!) Due to how rushed it was, it had performance issues and driver support showed vulnerabilities. (Some builds of ME fucking blue screened when shutting down in safe mode - how amazing.) . Programs also ran on a single string of memory, meaning if one program crashed, every other program would crash too.
In 2000:
Person 1: "Hey, why are you using Windows 2000 at your house even though it's for professional use?"
Person 2: "Windows ME just doesn't support hardware that Windows 2000 does and it's shit. When I tried Windows ME at another place it just blue screened like every second.")
Person 1: "Understandable."

Windows ME
aka "Megaflop Edition"
We have banned ME from the building. We bought one copy, and installed it. We left the machine running overnight, and were greeted with a BSD next morning. Sitting there doing nothing ME will explode on its own.
Given that Microsoft collected money for this P.O.S. and made no apology for its brain deadness, it could also aptly be named....

A 32/16-bit OS created by Microsoft in 2000.It was the final version of Windows to be based on what was then the 20 year old DOS operating system.ME had better multimedia support then it's sibling,Windows 2000,but had horrible driver support.ME also was also fairly unstable. In fact,it's well-known instability inspired a Japanese internet meme:ME-Tan.

A pathetic attempt at trying to make windows 98 more stable and to make it look like DOS was gone. Sumtimes referred to as "windows 98 third edition."
I used windows me for 20 minutes and managed to find multiple bugs. I immediately went back to windows 2000 afterwards.
