The Bud Light Effect

Describing the process by which a company adopts less than popular products or advertising and then sees their market share rapidly decline.
With the success of the Bud Light boycott, companies now fear The Bud Light Effect hitting them if they adopt woke policies or sell woke products.

The Chelsey Effect

When one, while consuming alcohol, continues to keep drinking in excessive amounts, all in a short period of time, because they believe that they are perfectly fine and nowhere near being drunk. After a short while, the alcohol will hit them like a wall and they will become severely drunk, possibly going from giggly and happy, to lying on the ground and feeling sick in a matter of minutes.
Jack: “Dude, you need to slow down!”
Bill: “Nah man, I’m totally fine. I don’t feel anything.”
Jack: “Man, The Chelsey Effect is gonna hit you so hard.”

The Duffy Effect

When someone befriends the handicapped solely based on the fact that they have a disability. The Duffy Effect involves a person who does not take into consideration that their new handicapped friend may actually be undeserving of friendship.
Katie: "I've always been nice to Ryan, but now he asked me to prom!"

Drew: "The handicapped kid? This is a textbook example of The Duffy Effect! That kid is an asshole anyway."

WLR effect

The effect of the majority hating on something then bandwagoning it later on.
Yo, Playboi Carti dropped Whole Lotta Red!” “I know, that album was ass.” (A few weeks later) “You we’re right WLR was fire.” “Your a bandwagon, that’s what I call the WLR effect.”

the History Channel effect

Dumbing down a prestigious and serious scientific publication, website, or channel in order to appeal to the uneducated masses, cut the budget, and get higher ratings.

deus ex effect

A psychological effect, induced by name dropping certain video games, that causes anyone who played that game to have a sudden urge to play it.

Named after the 2000 PC game Deus Ex, which famously will cause at least one person in the conversation to reinstall the game whenever mentioned, especially online.
Fred: Hey man, did you ever play that Deus Ex game? It was totally awesome.
Bill: Oh yeah, I loved that game! I should install it on my new PC.
Fred: Aw man, now I wanna play it!
Bill: That's the Deus Ex effect for you, buddy.
