An offshoot of the sighthound branch of mans best friend, the dog, Lurchers are generally a mix of Greyhound and Collie but pretty much any type of rangy dog will do. A true Lurcher can often be spotted by his inability to resist stealing your dinner when you answer the phone.
My dog Homer; any canine castmember of period drama; ideal companion to Travellers and Crusty's; chocolate's best and most loyal friend.

mommy luncher

A parent who insists on treating their preteen child / children like babies. Specifically meeting with them during team lunches for sports teams their child participates in.
Look at that mommy luncher, she didn't have time to eat her lunch because she was blowing on her 12 year old son's hot chocolate to cool it off and then needed to put dressing on her 14 year old daughter's salad. She may not have enough energy to follow their ski lesson around this afternoon.

1960's term for blue collar laborers (they typically worked at a packing house, or on the line at a factory) who were often spotted in greasy diners hunched over their food. Typically they wore dark pants, white socks and sensible dark work shoes.
