gullabye 

the act of giving children false hopes of distorted reality (often pertaining to their future) in the form of a bedtime story and/ or lullabye to ease their mind and help them to drift asleep faster after tucking them into bed in the hope that they will believe you because they do not know any better.

Cindy wouldn't stop talking about how much she loved shrek when i was putting her to bed, so i sang her a song about how little girls who sleep like they should will get swept off by rich kings one day and become queens. man, she loves those gullabyes
