wimplash 

The state of a person or company when they stand still and can't decide to move one way or another. It's paralysis without any real reason. "Make a decision and be resolute" is the call of the 2000-and-lates.

I asked them if they wanted to work with me and they just sat there, like a deer in the headlights unable to move right or left, as if they had "wimplash"

breakup wiplash 

to feel as tho everything is going fine, then to have your heart rip out so fast you cant even cry about it. its as tho your heart and mind cant synch up long enough for you to know how to feel.. until much later
