It is basically dating without the entitlement. There is no pressure, yet at the same time, both non-daters refuse to flirt with others. Often a precursor to dating.

"I thought Alexa and Graham were dating."

"No, right now they are gonna non-date. After all, who needs all that pressure."

When a single heterosexual male and his single heterosexual female friend go out somewhere (a movie, dinner, etc.).

The male is interested in dating the female but hasn't worked up the courage to tell her yet.

The female thinks they are going as friends.

Guy #1: How did your date with Tina go yesterday?
Guy #2: Oh, it was a nondate since she thought more people were coming.

2. coffee, lunch, after dinner drinks, hanging out after class, chillaxin
3. meeting up after the appropriate amount of pre-screening online flirting or vaguely sexy textversations
4. pre-cursor to a hookup, not to be confused with a booty call

Irina kept texting Francis to see about grabbing drinks after work some time, but they both kept flaking out on the nondate
