In contrast to previous entries, Sunderland is a bit of a decent place, whose football team are actually getting better despite other claims. The people who live there (Mackems)are actually quite nice, it's Geordies you want to watch out for. Don't ever expect to have a conversation with a Geordie without the word 'Shearer' coming into play as it just isn't possible.
Tourist 1: Sunderland isn't actually a bad place is it?
Tourist 2: Not at all, in fact it's rather nice. And the people there are great too.
Geordie: Shearer!
