That initial period of a relationship where you and your prospective mate aren't officially dating for whatever reasons, but spend hours talking to each other (face to face, online or over the phone) and thinking about each other.

A state of mutual fixation where neither party may admit to it.

Symptoms: Excitement, attraction, loss of sleep, frustration and confusion
