Short for "exploring". Often occurs unexpectedly, unplanned. Apostrophe may appear on either, or both, sides of the word. ('splorin, splorin', 'splorin')

Person 1: "What's that over there?"
Person 2: "I don't know, let's go 'splorin"

monkey paw

A kind of long sleeve shirt with a hole at the end of the sleeve through which you can pass your thumb. Helps keep the sleeves down and helps keep your wrist and part of your hand warm.
