The name for an SUV brand originally designed for military use but later changed for civilian purposes after Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted one.

The High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV; colloquial: M998 Humvee) The military Humvee was originally used in the army such as the Iraq War.

For a very brief period, a civilian version was sold as the 1996 AM General Hummer for a few years before AM General sold the rights to General Motors (GM) so that GM could sell the civilian SUV.

GM created a new division named Hummer where it produced the H1 model (based off of AM Generals '96 civilian model). GM also made the smaller H2 and H3 models before the 2009 economic crisis forced GM to cut the Hummer, Pontiac, and Saturn.

Recently in 2021, GM reincarnated the Hummer, not as a division but this time as a vehicle model through the GMC division. It will be sold as a staggering 9000lb electric suv and electric pickup as a huge middle finger to the angry treehuggers that used to vandalize the vehicle out of jealousy when they would pass by it.
Person 1: Dude this EV Hummer kicks ass, now I can watch Mad-At-Gas-Car treehuggers on my portable TV while driving.

Person 1: Hahahahah those animals are so fucking funny, they make me want to merge without looking.

*Merges his 9000lb Hummer into a flimsily built Tesla*

Name of Chrysler's parts division (More Parts) but colloquially used by car enthusiasts as an umbrella term to include all of Chrysler's car brands (Plymouth Dodge DeSoto Chrysler Imperial Eagle Valiant Fargo Ram Jeep etc).

Other interpretations of the name include "More Power" and "Massively Over Powered And Respected".

It is important to note that Mopar (Chrysler) cars nowadays only refers to Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram family wing (Stellantis North America). It does not refer to the other two wings of Stellantis, which are PSA Groupe Automobiles (Peugeot family) and Fiat SPA. Those two wings are still considered distinct from the Chrysler wing.

GMC (General Motors Truck Company) is the name of the truck division of GM (General Motors), the two should not be confused for each other. There is a confusing history to the naming of the brand.

GMC was originally named the Grabowsky Motor Company, an independent auto manufacturer. Grabowsky was renamed as the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company.

General Motors bought Rapid and turned it into a subsidiary, and also did the same thing with a company called Reliance.

Soon after, GM created a new brand named GMTC (General Motors Truck Company) and folded both Rapid and Reliance into GMTC. GM later renamed GMTC as GMC a few years before WW1, as homage to the original brand acronym by Max and Morris Grabowsky brothers.

GM states that GMC officially stands for the General Motors Truck Company. Although the T is removed from the acronym on paper, in theory the letter still exists.

GMC is typically different from Chevrolet for three reasons. As it is more expensive, works on heavier duty trucks (such as in both world wars), and allows for experimentation of niche vehicles that would not sell well under Chevrolet, like the 2021 EV Hummer.

Different from an environmentalist. An environmentalist is somebody who is rational, practical, and scientific.

Treehuggers think purely with emotion and not with actual critical thinking skills.

Typically without any job or hobby, spends their time protesting without thinking of any actual goals or solutions, and does things that feel good but are actually detrimental.

Example, blocking roads and pestering ordinary people, causing idling vehicles traffic and thus thereby causing even more CO2 buildup and moving people away from the movement.

Example 2: Torching SUVs because they are secretly jealous, which in turn creates toxins and co2 and smoke to release into the air, thereby causing more global warming, committing a major crime against ordinary people, and again moving away the average Joe from the cause that the treehugger wants people to join.

Often seen handing out flyers advertising their protest which wastes paper and ends up on the ground as litter.

Is too pathetic to actually work for practical solutions to combat climate change and instead resorts to slacktivism and eco terrorism because they lack the internal strength and motivation to solve problems.
Friend 1: Dude why is there so much traffic and smog today?

Friend 2: those tree hugging idiots blocked the road and caused the cars to idle, idk some stupid protest or something.

Friend 1: Why can't they get a job?

Friend 2: Probably because they blew thousands of dollars of their parents money on an un employable college major and now resort to activism as a way to cope with the fact that they are ashamed of their lack of real accomplishments in life.

Friend 1: Agreed. Fuck treehuggers.
