Awka

Also known as Blacksmith City because of metalware such as guns, brass kettles and iron hunting tools that were once produced in the city. Other nicknames for Awka include AW (pronounced A-dub) City and A-Town. The capital city of Anambra state, and the third most liveable city in southeastern Nigeria after Enugu and Owerri, Awka is home to many luxury hotels, residential estates, schools and hospitals. The city is also the centre of Anambra's economic, political, and social activity.

Anambra

A state in the southeastern region of Nigeria. Bordered by Imo and Rivers, Abia, Delta and Kogi states. Igbo people constitute the majority of the population. The capital city is Awka.

My parents are from Anambra, I grew up in Awka and I am proud to be an Anambrarian.

One of the major cities to visit if you happen to be in Nigeria. The city has a thriving nightlife scene, beautiful women and good hotels. Home to several local entertainers including movie stars and musicians.
