Coined by human1011 from TikTok, this word describes when two words are both synonyms AND antonyms.

From Latin “Ambi” meaning “both”.
From Greek “όνομα” meaning “word”.
Robbery” and “steal” are ambonyms because during a bank robbery, stealing is occurring, but when buying something that is expensive, it is “daylight ROBBERY”, whilst buying something that is cheap would cause someone to say that it is a “STEAL”. Thus, steal – cheap – and robbery – expensive – are ambonymous.
