Usually uttered without a second thought in response to someone, usually to try and appear agreeable. Also, used to get something that someone wants either consciously or subconsciously.
Melissa: "So, Dan, what did you think your performance was good during yesterday's job?"
VP Dan: "Oh, sure (enthusiastically). I think there's always room for improvement, but I believe I did my best (gulps inside head)."
