It's not a realistic expectation to expect a first year team to go out and win every game. Underconfidence is when if you think you'll win about 3 games, you end up winning about 3 games, even though you had the ability to do what you didn't think you would do. The point is not to win games, it's not to start a habit of defeating yourself early when really you have the ability to go further with a little more confidence at the times you would usually lose confidence. If you're playing to win, you're going to fear failure and feel like you have to win, but if you're just going out and working on the things you're rusty at, trying to do what you didn't do last week or yesterday, not giving up on yourself, and the work you're doing is always in progress and never finished, you have room to improve anything you want to improve.
Underconfidence can get you stuck somewhere you wouldn't be stuck at a time when your confidence level wasn't as low.

Get the Get seriousmug. The display meant for Jim Cantore most likely didn't come from somebody who was actually from Louisiana, it most likely came from somebody out of state, just like he's from out of state.
One person from out of state telling another to stay out of that state is almost the worst kind of hypocrisy there is, the worst being somebody who's not even from that state telling somebody from that state to stay out. People don't love Jim Cantore, they need to quit lying to him.

Get the Common sensemug. For some kids, out of the woods meant back to where the authority figures they ran to were so they could get other kids in trouble, so much fun to them, or at least they claimed it was, that they had to have popcorn for show to somebody else), so they use the expression out of the woods a lot, but for others, the woods wasn't such a bad place to be.
Not everybody would want to be out of the woods if they were choosing between staying in the woods, and leaving the woods.
