Derogatory term for someone who treats others contemptuously and selfishly. The word is a reference to Popples, a plush toy from the 1980s, and is meant to signify that the person described is "up their own ass."
If I'd known the guy behind me was going to be a popple and scream at the cashier for 10 minutes about not being able to use his expired deodorant coupon, I never would have let him go first.

Muslim colloquialism referring to the physical distance maintained between a (presumably) pious individual and members of the opposite sex. A similar concept among some Christians is that of "leaving room for the Holy Ghost." Also similar to the idea of "social distancing," albeit without a medical rationale.
