A pop punk band that started in 1989 with Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Al Sobronte then Tre Cool joined in 1991. Released 1039 hours and Kerplunk on Lookout! Before signing to Reprise in around '93. They were therefore labelled sell outs. They have since released Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning, International Superhits!, Shenanagins and American Idiot.

Since they get called for it now I may as well talk about American Idiot.

Whether or not you like American Idiot please dont try to force your opinion on to others. In MY OPINION American Idiot is a good album. They did not sell out whilst making this album, they still had complete control over what they released and St Jimmy, Letterbomb and Homecoming are great songs.

Green Day may not be 1970 punk but they do have punk roots. If you disagree then fair enough, dont listen to them but dont try to bully others into thinking what you think. Green Day are the ones who got me into The Clash, Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Operation Ivy among others. I feel that they are a good intro to the world of punk.

Anyway like I keep saying if you like them great, also try the old punk bands. If you dont, fine, just dont try to bully others into thinking what you think.

Also known as RADS. It is a disease which permanantly fills the infected with unnecassery rage. Severe cases find social gatherings difficult and cannot be stopped from social self destruction. He will always speak his mind, the problem being that his mind is not a nice place as it is filled with cruel thoughts. A liam is the sworn enemy of the RADS and is their complete opposite to them, therefore they are engaged in a battle that only the RADS victem will win by sudden death.

Repetative Angry Dion Syndrome victems are commonly thought of as "bad", really they are misunderstood. What ever happens, do not let them take the initiative, once they have control you will be ground down, mark my words im a RADS victems bitch all because I let him be the daddy god fucking zilla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to start this by saying that I wasnt alive in the seventies and I never got the chance to see the likes of The Pistols, The Clash or even The Ramones. This is simply my opinion.

I think that:

Punk is a loud, fast, often anti-establishment type of music. It was influenced by and has influenced many different types of music. It started in the seventies and was popularized by The Clash, Sex Pistols and the Ramones. Punk is not an image it is a belief and a lifestyle as well as a type of music.

Since the end of the seventies it has become impossible to truly define becuase it gave birth to so many different forms of music such as indie, goth, hardcore, emo, punk pop etc. Because of this a sort of "punk snobbery" has developed, were "true punks" look down upon others for not being around in that era.

Definately Punk: Sex Pistols, The Clash, Ramones

A little bit Punk: The Jam, Blondie, Green Day

Not Punk: Avril Lavine, Good Charlotte, Elliot Minor
Punk is not a fashion sense and it should not be an opportunity to look down on people because they are just beggining to get into Punk with "softer bands" like The Jam or Green Day.
