Play Action Pass - In American football, an offense that fakes run plays to then throw the ball down the field. (The fake holds the linebackers by the line of scrimmage and keeps them from falling back to defend the pass.) Often used on downs when the run might be expected by the defense.
In a PAP-heavy offense, the QB needs to be able to see the middle of the field over the linemen.
