The Standard Oil Company of New York, S.O.Co.N.Y., or simply Socony, was one of thirty-four independent companies broken up from the monopoly that was Standard Oil, as ordered by the U.S. Supreme Court. Socony merged with Vaccuum Oil bringing about Socony-Vacuum. Later they changed the name to Socony Mobil Oil Company, then to just Mobil Oil Corporation. Finally, they merged with Exxon in 1999 into the current ExxonMobil.
Socony is the originating company to ExxonMobil.

A fictional world that is made up of all over-the-counter penny stocks whose ticker symbols end in '.PK'

Investors with an online brokerage account, specifically Scottrade, are a part of this world when they buy or sell stocks listed as a pink sheet.
Typical situation: "I bought 10,000,000mil shares of this pink sheet stock at a PPS (price per share) of 0.0001 for a mere $1,000 dollars. Within a week, the PPS soared to $1.00 giving me $10,000,000mil dollars! I love Pinkyland!"

Refers to anything associated with or part of high density developement or growth in a given area, including, but not limited to, housing, commercial, buildings, and infrastructure.
The boy grew up in an urban area where everything his eyes could see was manmade; buildings, sidewalks, concrete; everywhere he looked. He actually preferred it, as he could walk wherever he needed to go. The best part, was that there were parks where he could "get away" had he ever felt the need to.

Jason and Jennifer, two siblings, live in a suburban community just outside of Boston. Their mother drives a Ford Explorer to her suburban job at a telemarketing center. She picks Jason up from soccer practice every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. The father takes the freeway into Boston every morning to be to his office job by 9:00 AM. He leaves work at 5:00 PM and is home by 6:00 PM, just in time for supper at his suburban home, where his mother and children await his arrival.
