The second year of the millennium. It makes far more sense this way, it is the second year, not the first. 2001 was very underwhelming in comparison to what the past had predicted would happen in that year. 2001 was also not a good time for western civilization, as the conflicts with islamic extremists came to a far more notable rise. Since 2001, western nations have had far more issues with such extremists than they had before. So it was, in some ways, not a particularly good year, in comparison to many of the years surrounding it, such as 2000, 2002, 2003, or 2004.

This is a pure and beautiful decade, with April of 2021 being a beautiful and pleasant pure month. 2020-2029 are the years in this decade, although some say 2021-2029. Either way, it is a clean and new decade to be in, unique from the decades before and after, just as any decade. 2021 is the pure year, especially spring of 2021. Currently, there is so much potential for this decade, year, next month, and this spring, as they have either just started, or not started yet at all. But unlike with others, the potential is made conscious on this site. So far, this doesn't seem to be the case with any other decade, year, month, or season. Not even in history has there ever been a "pure" decade, yet there has been the naughty 90's, the roaring 20's, etc. Even in ancient history there hasn't been such a time. Perhaps we can call it the purifying 20's.
Person: "Ah, a clean and new fresh decade to live through. A new time. Its the 2020's (the pure 20's) (the 20's )"

A great year. Unlike the other inaccurate definition provided. It was not worse than 2002. But it was nonetheless simply a year in history now, and it was in the early-mid 2000s, the 2000s having started on January 1st 2000. NOT 2001.
It was the year in which Concorde ended. It was also the year in which internet and cell phone usage seems to have grown even more. Digital photography was widely expanded that year with cheaper digital cameras available for more people. The year also saw the creation of some new internet meme videos, such as the spread of the starwars kid video. It seems that 2003 may have paved the way for the rapid increase in internet usage during the later mid 2000s. The year of 2003 also had a blackout in the North east, which was eventually portrayed in many children's shows in the decades to come. It was not as interesting a year as 2001 (although it was less infamous) and it seems it was not as amazing as 2006, when youtube really took off and the internet became far more modern. But it was more interesting than 2002, for example.
