Coordinated Universal Time. The civil standard of marking universal time; formerly known as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), then Zulu Time (ZT). Universal time is denoted in 24 hour format, usually omitting the colon: 1432 (14:32) = 2:32 p.m. Coordinated Universal Time is marked either as UTC or Z (for Zulu)
