A dreampunk story could take place in a world where dreams manifest into reality, altering the environment in surrealistic ways, or even take place in a story where psionic beings that enslave humanity in an inescapable nightmare. It could also take place in a universe where you can dive into the unconscious realm of the mind, opening the gate to a brand new world.
Some examples of dreampunk would be Alice in wonderland, Inception, The Coma, the lathe of heaven, and paprika.
