A term used by the Chicago Outfit (Mafia) to indicate that a high ranking member has summoned someone in the family for a meet, either a made guy or an associate, and it is not a request, attendence is mandatory. Failure to comply could result in being whacked.
"Ya hear about Geno? He got whistled in about that thing that went sideways."

"Yeah? Was it a one-way trip?"

"Nah, they straightened it out. He's ok."
