A made up word. Part of the word "Uncouth" meaning rude, but by itself meaningless. It falls into the category of words that need prefixes in order to exist. (unkempt, disgruntled, overwhelmed, etc.)

Archaically used to mean "familiar, " "known" opposite to "uncouth" meaning "unfamiliar" and "unknown"
*bumps into someone* --"wow, that's really uncouth"
"So if I apologize does that mean I have couth?"
"No, that means you have manners. Couth isn't a word by itself."

"Couth, couth"
"Gazoontite."
