A classic arcade game where you pilot a spaceship, at the bottom of the screen, shooting aliens that fly from a formation above you and dodging their own projectiles. I can't believe no one has tried to define this term yet.
(Example is from The Simpsons):

Willy: It's impossible for me to fire a pistol. If you'll check me medical records, you'll see I have a cripplin' arthritis in me index fingerrrs. Look at 'em! holds them up I got it from "Space Invaders" in 1977.

Wiggum: Aw, yeah. That was a pretty addictive video game.

Willy: surprised Video game?

Euphemism for "garbage" (or possibly "recycling"). Usually used to refer to the location where your résumé winds up when they don't want to hire you.
Human-resources guy 1: Ugh, another pile of applications from undereducated high-schoolers with no job experience.
Human-resources guy 2: Don't worry about it, just file them in the circular bin.

A slang term for people of Western and/or caucasoid descent, usually used by Muslims and/or people of Arab descent. Typically considered insulting or epithetic by the latter, and rather confusing by the former.

One individual point of light on a computer screen or other electronic display. (Short for "picture element.") Also used to refer to a particular point of data (i.e. color) in an image file.
The old Macintosh icons are usually 32 pixels wide and 32 pixels high.
