Spending lots of time with an average or less than average looking girl and noticing that she is becoming hotter and hotter as time passes. This is presumably due to the fact that you feel that you should have slept with her based on the amount of time you have committed to the relationship.
Alex: Have you noticed how Rosie is looking a lot hotter these days?
Mark: Nah man - you've just been spending way too much time with her!
Alex: Really?
Mark: Yeah... it's Proximity Theory!
