An absolute genius of a writer who created probably the most complex and complete fantasy world ever, 'Middle-earth', based on European mythology. Well known for Lord of the Rings, which has been made into a movie. He also created many languages.
Tolkien's Middle-earth is the ultimate fantasy. The world is amazing. His languages are beautiful. Worship it.

A term coined by JRR Tolkien, meaning an object given as a present to someone who does not want it. This person then gives it to someone else at an appropriate occasion. The object passes to the majority of people in the area over time, becoming a mathom.
