Constitution Shredders first gained power during the Bush Administraion. After the "events" of 9/11/01, George W. Bush pushed for more government control to "fight terrorism." Bush's Patriot Act, warrantless wiretapping and censorship marked the beginning of the end of the Bill of Rights. The Right Wing nut jobs' continuous anti-gay and "pro-life" actions are attacks on the "equal protection under the law" provsions of the constitution. Now in 2010 as the anti-immigrant movement grows, John Boehner and other G.O.P. Congressmen and Senators are talking about changing the 14th Ammendment. They want to deny U.S. Citizenship to children born in America if the parents are illeagal immigrants!
The Republican Party is full of Constitution Shredders!

Get the Constitution Shredders mug.The Lost Decade refers to the 10 years following George W. Bush becoming president. The bad effects of the Bush Administration will be felt for a very long time. This includes the long term problems caused by the poor management of our environment, deregulation of industry and finance, the disastrous foreign policy, tax cuts for the rich, Patriot Act, erosion of our constitution, the massive deficits and the worst economy in 80 years!!!
Many school kids in 2010 will not know what prosperity was like or how America was strong and respected in the world before Bush 43 ruined our country. They are caught in the LOST DECADE, hopefully their kids can see America return to glory!

Get the LOST DECADE mug.Reference to controversial plan to build a Mosque and "community center" in New York City, near the site of Ground Zero. The controversy and outrage comes from the 9/11 terrorist attacks involving Muslims and the victims' families still in mourning. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the man behind the plan, is either extremely insensitive to the 9/11 victims or a truly obscene terrorist sympathizer!
Many people were rightfully appalled when the Ground Zero Mosque received approval from the NYC building commission! Whether intentional or not, the location of Rauf's planned Mosque is really a bad idea.

Get the Ground Zero Mosque mug.Palin Patriots is another word for Tea Party Patriots. Basically these are the sheep that follow Sarah Palin and the radical anti-government group known as the Tea Party. Obviously these wingnuts do not understand the meaning of "patriot."
These people blame President Obama for the disaster caused by George W Bush and are upset by the drastic steps Obama has taken to repair our devastated economy.
They seem to be opposed to anything Democrats do and have no concept of rational thought!

The hippy political movement was an anti-establishment force that was organized by anti-war college students. In 1968, Bobby Kennedy was the first presidential candidate supported by the hippies and George McGovern was the last major hippy supported candidate in 1972.
During the 70s, the hippies grew up and became yuppies and supported moderate mainstream candidates like Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.

This decision lead to corporations declaring holy war on incumbent Democrats. Big corporations spent HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS on Republican campaigns, mostly through secret "non-profit" organizations and 527 groups. With the help of these unlimited corporate donations, the G.O.P. outspent Democrats 10 to 1. Unfortunately for America, the 2010 Election will go down in history as the nasiest and most expensive mid-term election ever (so far.)
The Corporate Jihad in 2010 lead to the Republicans gaining a controlling majority interest in Congress and an increased minority share of the Senate. The only real winner in this election was the media and advertising firms.

It is typical for a mid-term election to favor the oppostion party, however due to unlimited corporate spending this year, the G.O.P. took a bigger chunk than anyone would have thought possible. Republicans had a 25% approval rating in 2010. They somehow bought a majority in Congress and made gains in the Senate. Luckily the Tea Party was only able to get 32% of their candidates elected.
