After the company reduced its workforce by ten percent in order to satisfy the bottom-line feeders and their need to increase revenue, customer service suffered and many patrons sought help elsewhere.

A work request sent to help desks or administrative assistants that should be very quick and simple to complete, but comes back over and over again due to the requestor's poor attention to detail or indecisive work groups or committees unable to agree on a final version of the request.

A zombie request can also relate to non-business requests, such as requests from a honey-do list or a family member.
I thought this spreadsheet was finally complete after the 12th time it came back for revisions, but the Tasks committee now can't decide what order to put the columns in! This zombie request just won't die!
