Manace is a mashup of "manager" and "ace" that compliments the tenacity and dedication of a boss with regards to securing the positions of the people who work for him/her. Rather than pushing pencils and delegating his work to underlings, a Manace is... One who takes control of any situation, where the protection of a subordinate's stature is concerned. i.e. "if you don't want to walk on eggshells, if you don't want to worry about the axe falling, then you want to work for boss/manager's name - believe me, he's a manace."
