Shekelmancy is the seemingly magic ability for someone (especially with outsized facial features or Jewish descent) to produce money from nothing but confusing logic, something unprofitable, and/or an endless cycle of paperwork.
In the 1930s shekelmancy ran rife throughout Europe, to the point at which the rate of inflation in Germany skyrocketed so high it forced many people to buy new charts to plot it on, to the disgruntlement of all. This infuriated some failed Austrian artist to such an extent he then proceeded to take over Europe to try and wipe out any trace of it.
Jack: How on earth did he manage to get so much money from that idea? It made no sense to me.

Josef: Ah, he is well practiced in the art of shekelmancy.
