The result of professional sports leagues maintaining that at least one player from each of that league's teams should be represented at an All-Star Game, even if no one on the team is particularly noteworthy, or worthy of being named an "All-Star."

Pity Pick Up

Picking up somebody (who is less beautiful, less smart, or less cool than you are) because you feel bad for them / you pity them.

This guy is pretty lame but he can be my pity pick up.
