Nowruz

The Persian New Year, an ancient celebration with rich persian culture dating back . Nowruz (meaning: New Day in Persian) begins on the Spring equinox (the first day of spring season, occurs the exact moment e when the sun passes the equator moving from the southern to the northern hemisphere once a year!) It is celebrated worldwide by various ethno-linguistic groups, and falls on or around March 21st of the Gregorian calendar, although the time and date vary every year and are usually very exact.
Paniz: “Nowruz has many rituals and traditions coming up to the day and even after the new year!”
Ronika: “People are so clueless about this beautiful celebration, what are some of the rituals of Nowruz?”
Paniz: “Glad you asked, Chaharshanbe Suri , Tahvil , Haft-Seen , spring cleaning , spring visitings , painting eggs , eating Sabzi Polo Mahi , receiving Eidi, or having some Ash-e resteh.”
Ronika: “Oh wow, I’ll have to look some of those up on Urban Dic. to learn more about it!”
