love uncle
An unrelated male acquaintance of any parent that perpetually finds themselves hanging around situations with children. This person acts as an uncle, getting them exclusive access to adolescent children. Also, the love uncle shows more affection for, and possibly "loves" the child more than would their actual uncle.
Child - "Mom, why is Terry always eating dinner with us?"
Mom- "Rob, Terry is your love uncle."
Child - "Aren't I too young to drink wine coo.....?"
Terry - "*cough*cough* this is delicious!"
Mom- "Rob, Terry is your love uncle."
Child - "Aren't I too young to drink wine coo.....?"
