A big assumption or making a big claim. Sometimes used to call someone out for lying.
Usually 'big chat' comes from someone who backs themselves too much.
Commonly followed by pressure to back their claim. EG 'I can see off a pint in 20 seconds'. 'big chat, you have to do it now'.
Lad 1: 'Oi I smashed a gram of K last night'.
Lass 1: 'big chat, you had a beer and checked out'.
