The mathematical equivalent of Alcoholics Anonymous. A group of math-anxious folks who exhibit symptoms like faster heartbeat, sweaty palm, and mental blackout, when faced with math questions—arguably, the remedy is to adopt a mind-over-math attitude.
Because the term “Mathophobics Anonymous” sounds pretty negative and embarrassing, mathepreneurs have come up with some creative names such as “Math Clinic” and “Second Chance Math for Mature Adults” to encourage the mathematically challenged to come forward.
