When a guy (or girl) does so bad at picking up someone of the opposite sex at an event it is said they played it like the Toronto Maple Leafs

"Bro did you get any action at the party on saturday?"
"Naw man, I was rejected 3 times!"
"Man it sounds like you had a leafs weekend."
