A Dave Doze is when a person appears to be asleep on his couch, and things are going on around him, he is even snoring... And then he unexpectedly answers a question or makes a comment that reveals that he is not totally asleep. Infact, he might be catching up on his zzzzz's, he is completely coherent.
I pulled a DaveDoze while napping this afternoon. I listened while my housemates argued over who's turn it was to do dishes. I finally interrupted this chaos and told them who's turn it was. Mine.
