sock money

Paper money kept inside a person's sock while they wear it, usually because they either have no pockets to hold it, or it is kept hidden to prevent loss from robbery or theft. The downside is the paper becomes damp with the person's sweat, usually resulting in the money having a bad odor when presented to purchase something.
The cashier refused to accept Bob's sock money because she could smell it from three feet away.
