a fake apology with no real sense of remorse attached to it. the word is used by a member of society whose strange behavior speaks louder than words, yet when he speaks he cannot express himself in a sincere manner. his apology is often unwarranted and unnecessary thus creating a moment of awkwardness that is excruciating and inescapable.
