Although meaning "dark" or "black", this term refers to a light skinned Hispanic female, usually born in the US, but with Puerto Rican background. Used in parts of Queens, New York.

Guy: Hey, where you from?
Light skinned female: Here, but my parents are from Puerto Rico.

Guy: Oh, so you're an Ebony?
