Ride the buffalo
Do a 5 year prison sentence. I heard this in county jail in Ohio in the 1970s. A career criminal on parole used it. It was a synonym for "Do a nickel". That's because the 5ยข piece from 1913 through 1938 was called the Indian Head Nickel and had an American bison aka buffalo on the reverse. To quote him, "I can't ride the fucking buffalo again."
