Anchor Lazy

(adj.) Someone who stays dependent or immobile not because they can’t move on, but because it’s easier not to. A person financially capable of independence yet emotionally or administratively stuck — often lacking job history, credit, or initiative.
“He’s got a savings account and a Tesla while living with his ex. Lucky for him, he's been anchor lazy for years.”
“A chronic case of anchor laziness keeps her from signing a lease.”

Mid-Life Limbo Lodger

(n.) An adult adrift between independence and inertia — an ex-partner or adult child who lingers in someone else’s home long past the natural checkout date. Financially able but bureaucratically or emotionally paralyzed.
“She could move out anytime, but her credit report’s a blank page. Classic mid-life limbo lodger.”
