(adj.) Someone who stays dependent or immobile not because they can’t move on, but because it’s easier not to. A person financially capable of independence yet emotionally or administratively stuck — often lacking job history, credit, or initiative.

Mid-Life Limbo Lodger

(n.) An adult adrift between independence and inertia — an ex-partner or adult child who lingers in someone else’s home long past the natural checkout date. Financially able but bureaucratically or emotionally paralyzed.
