Tellingbone

TELEPHONE.

Self explanatory.

I believe this is a mainly Aussie expression in rhyming slang, but may be used within the sound of the bell (cockney-ism).
"Get him on the tellingbone".

alexander bell

TELEPHONE.

Leading from the chap who invented audio telegraphy ('Marconi' simply doesn't have the same connotation in the English speaking world).

I think this is a uniquely Aussie expression, but may be in use elsewhere.
He's not at work. Try and get him on his alexander bell.
