The phrase, "Under God," is often found to be offensive towards atheists. However, the nation was founded by christians. Even the Natives belived in a higher power. America is, and always has been, a nation of a majority of God-fearing people. Also, God can be interpreted in many ways, such as Yaweh, the Christian God, Allah, the Muslim God, or whichever makes senes to the individual. How can something open to interpretation be offensive?

Lastly, America is NOT fascist. We do not worship the flag. The flag is merely a symbol of our proud nation. We respect and honor it like we would any other symbol of our nation.
The pledge of alleigance represents our loyalty to the nation that truly is the model of the free world. Communism, Feudalism, Mercantilism, and Fascism are all humbled by her glory. Ours is a nation of freedom and democracy.
