Santorum surge

1. The sudden rise in popularity of presidential candidate Richard "Rick" Santorum immediately preceding the 2012 Iowa caucus, and his surprisingly impressive performance in the caucus.

2. The sudden expulsion of a frothy emulsion of personal lubricant and fecal matter ("Santorum"), often caused by overstimulation of the anal sphincter.
TV Anchor: "The Santorum surge is largely attributable to social conservatives, especially white evangelical Christians."

Viewer (in disgust): "I'll show you a Santorum surge!"
