Steam Deck Effect

A phenomenon where a person consciously does/uses something that they had previously thought was "impossible" or "hard" to do/use (such as linux, for many people), because of endorsement from a large "player" (such as valve and the steam deck) making it feel "safer" or more "comforting".

"Dude, I always thought Linux was only for nerds! I got a steam deck and the Steam Deck Effect hit me HARD bro. Now I use it everyday!"
