Derived from the word moloch for a king or primitive pagan god. Schmoloch is a person who is the center of attention or focus of others but either idles away while others look on or otherwise behaves stupidly before the group. In chess: "It is your turn to move, schmoloch."
In Scrabble: "Schmoloch! There is no way that crumperbun is in the dictionary I can't believe that took you 30 minutes." In pizza: "This pizza delivery schmoloch hasn't arrived yet.
