a phrase used to describe something illicit, sinful, or dangerous you are about to do.

Dad: What are you doing with those cigarettes?
Son: Just going outside to do the right thing.

Guy1: Why did I see you leaving the bar with my girlfriend last night?
Guy2: Don't worry dude I was just doing the right thing.

put things right

1. To make something the way it should be; make it right.

2. To fix what went wrong.

3. To make amends.

4. To correct mistakes that happened.

5. To provide for a incompleteness.

I want to put things right between us. I know I messed up bad, but I have to be honest about it.
