recusatio satyra

"Refusal of Satire" in Latin
The act of refusing a joke despite the OP making it clear that the "joke" was indeed a joke. This word can be associated with "Joke Police" as they are typically the ones who experience recusatio saytra.

This action tends to happen when the joke was offensive/inappropriate and the person undergoing recustatio satyra

acts as if they have more/better morals.

This often happens on social media (e.g, Twitter) when one makes an overly offensive joke and people pile on that individual for the offensive joke.

For example: On August 3rd, 2022, a Twitter user posted a clip of Genshin Impact Voice Actor Sean Chiplock saying he would "smash" Sayu, a loli character within the game. One second later in the clip, Chiplock says "just for everyone who was recording." This signifies that he knows the clip will be taken out of context and joked on by the Genshin fanbase. Despite this, many people called Chiplock a "pedophile."

Context for joke: A common assumption for Genshin Impact players is that they're sex offenders. This is enhanced by nearly half of the Genshin Impact characters being below the age of 18 and/or looking below the age of 13.
Person A: "Smash or Pass: Sayu"
Chiplock: "Smash!"
Chiplock: "Just for everyone who was recording!"
Person B: "She looks 8 years old! You're a pedophile!"
Person C: "He literally made it clear that it was a joke. How are you undergoing recusatio satyra?"
B: "WTF is a recusatio satyra? Are you defending pedophillia?"

reputation era

reputation is Taylor Swift’s best era and album. reputation era as a slang is usually used on stan Twitter when some popular musician is expected to drop their dark themed album. It is also used when a person is getting hate and a lot of backlash for something.
person A: “they’re trying to cancel me lol”

person B: “you’re coming for your reputation era omg”

reputation era

when someone says they are “entering their reputation era” it basically means that they are about to f@!? some sh!t up. they will get revenge, and glow from the inside out. it’s a bad b!tch moment for sure. it originated from Taylor swift when she dropped the single “look what you made me do” calling out kanye and everyone who talked down on her.
“omg i heard about taylor, everyone’s been making false rumours about her, she’s totally going to enter her reputation era after all this drama.”

clean as your mother's reputation

Basically, this term means that you can't get something any cleaner (or purer) than it is. It's also meant as a compliment by saying that somebody's mother is not a skanky whore or streetwalker. This term appeared in the young adult edition of the novel adaptation of the 1979 sci-fi thriller"Alien".
George the janitor tidied up the restroom so well it's not simply spic and span, it's as clean as your mother's reputation.

reputation era (rep era)

literal: derived from Taylor Swift’s most notable album (or commonly referred to as an era by her fans) in which she sheds her good-girl image and takes on an alter ego of an unexpected, darker, more vengeful version of herself. the album is rooted in irony and mockery of the people who dragged her name through mud.

figuratively/stan usage: although it is commonly referred to as when a person has a comeback with vengeance and to mock those that have hurt them, it is more deeply understood through her fan base as one of her most romantic pieces of art, because although the album’s setting is a dark place in life, the stories of this album detail of love that cannot be broken by status or superficial things. it is a romance that lifts her from the dead as she “once was poison ivy”, and she grows into a “daisy”.

someone who is said to be in their “rep era” is completely aware of bullshit and clowns and is not only coming back for vengeance, but gives absolutely zero fucks about it, because they probably have the love of their life waiting for them if they “strike out and crawl home”.
