When a person guards a "safe" or "base" spot during a game of tag, forcing the person at the base to get tagged when they come out.

"Hey, thats not fair, no puppy guarding!"

Puppy-dog gaurding 

When playing tag, or another game where there is a 'base' or other type of safe zone, the person 'it' stands outside the zone, waiting for the person to leave so as to tag them.

person1: *runs into base*
person2: *stands outside base waiting for them to try to escape*
person1: Hey! No puppy-dog gaurding!

Puppyguarding 

When the person who's "it" in freeze tag waits right by someone touching the base, so they can immediately be frozen when they quit touching it. The definition can be expanded to include someone in a position of power who bides his/her time to catch a 2nd person in a mistake, often for self-benefit (especially if the 2nd person is considered a nuisance).

Joe: I got banned from the messageboard because of a year-old post!

Ray: With your reputation, y'know the staff was puppyguarding you!

Puppygaurd

1. A derogatory word for people in online pvp games who protect a single location in a large group when it doesn't need it. Puppygaurders are either afraid to die, or have no idea how to play. Puppygaurding usually leads to a loss.

I just got out of and AB where we outnumbered the alliance, but we had 8 people puppygaurding lumbermill while everyone else split up and got eaten alive.
